Zendesk

Zendesk template is available only in the Advanced edition of the ARNR app. Read ARNR Advanced editions and Free vs Paid apps for more details about the advanced edition.

Create a Zendesk template

Navigate to the templates page on the ARNR screen & click on the Create button.

You will be brought to the template selection pop-up. Select the Zendesk template type, and below template builder will be launched to design the Zendesk template.

Default template will be populated. Make any required changes & save them to create a new template.

Zendesk template fields

Here are the details of the Zendesk template fields (check the above screenshot) -

  • Template name

    • This is for internal reference & doesn’t show up in release notes published on Zendesk.

  • Level

    • Local or Global - Determines whether the Zendesk template is available to be used in other projects across Jira.

    • Cross-project - For cross-project templates (which can be managed only from the cross-project ARNR screen), this field is disabled from editing & is set to cross-project by default.

  • ARNR branding - To define whether you wish to show ARNR branding in release notes.

    • For Free ARNR app, it is the default and cannot be unchecked

  • Spotlight issue - Read Zendesk | Spotlight issues section below.

  • Empty check - If checked, Zendesk article will not be published if none of the JQLs in template do not retrieve any data.

  • Title - Title of the Zendesk FAQ or Announcement

  • Content - The actual release notes content is generated for Zendesk can be designed within this body

Preview a Zendesk template

We are storing the locale of user in cache which is valid for 30 minutes. If any user changes their Jira language, it might take 30 mins to reflect in the app.

When creating or editing a Zendesk template, it can be previewed immediately. Just click on the Preview button once the desired changes have been made.

On the preview page, a few fields will populate where you have to provide input. These fields will show up based on the variables you have used in the templates. E.g., Version Id, Custom variables. Input those values based on your setup, and then click on the preview button in blue. Notice the preview of your release notes.
